Ushers
An Usher’s basic duties are to hand out bulletins before the worship service and take up the collection. There is no formal training or practice; they do not necessarily serve every Sunday. Ushers are coordinated by “Bing” Ventres. Anyone who would like to be an usher should contact Bing at 762-9401.
Acolytes
Wearing a special robe, the acolytes process before the choir at the beginning of the worship service and light the altar candles; they receive the children’s collection and extinguish the altar candles at the end of the service. All students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades are encouraged to serve as acolytes on Sundays from September to June, on a rotating basis. Some brief training is involved. Acolytes are coordinated by Peg Roedel. Contact Peg Roedel.
Altar Guild
Members of this committee, which is a part of the Worship Committee, have the responsibility for changing the paraments in the chancel; preparing the elements and clean-up after communion; and arranging for weekly flowers. Helpers are always welcome. Contact Karen Elmasry.
How To Get Involved
The Worship Committee always welcomes new members. Planning and scheduling meetings take place approximately once each quarter. To get involved in one of the ministries listed above, contact the coordinators listed above.
