Christmas Dove Program

We help many have a better holiday through the presents collected for the Christmas Dove program.

Through Darien's Person-to-Person Christmas Dove Program, we and 20 area churches will respond to the needs of families and senior persons in our communities who might otherwise do without. As in prior years, you may participate in this program by either taking a white or green dove from our Christmas Dove tree in the narthex.

A white dove represents a needy family for whom you are invited to fill a box of food for Christmas Day. All necessary food items and directions can be obtained from the Church office. Please purchase only items on the food list and pack in a carryable size boxes. A $15 contribution is also required, so that Person-to-Person can deliver a store voucher to each family to buy their choice of meat.

A green dove represents a financial contribution to Person-to-Person's Scholarship or Emergency Assistance Fund. Scholarships each year help about 50 students to continue their education with grants ranging from $500 to $800. Emergency Assistance is a year-round program, Over 1,600 people each year seek loans or grants to help them pay their fuel bills or rents or medical bills not covered by Medicaid.

Our Dove tree will be in the Narthex. If you would like to participate in the white or green dove program, please contact Peg Roedel or Joan Starr or call the Church office at 966-2666. Take a Dove with Love!
